What is Anastrogratis and what is it used for
Anastrogratis belongs to a group of medicines called aromatase inhibitors. This means that it is associated with the action of aromatase - an enzyme in the human body that affects the level of female sex hormones such as estrogen.

Anastrogratis is used to treat breast cancer in postmenopausal women.

2. What you need to know before you take Anastrogratis
Follow all your doctor's instructions carefully. They may differ from the general information in this leaflet.

Do not take Anastrogratis:
if you are allergic to Anastrozole or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6);
if you are pregnant or breast-feeding (see section "Pregnancy and lactation and fertility")
If any of the above apply to you, talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Anastrogratis.

Warnings and precautions
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Anastrogratis:

if you are still menstruating and not menopausal;
if you are taking a medicine containing tamoxifen or medicines containing estrogen (see section “Other medicines and Anastrogratis”).
if you suffer from a disease that affects the strength of your bones (osteoporosis);
if you suffer from a disease that affects the kidneys and liver;
If you are not sure if any of the above applies to you, tell your doctor. He will keep this in mind during your treatment with Anastrogratis.

If you are admitted to hospital, tell the medical staff that you are taking Anastrogratis.

Other drugs and Anastrogratis
You should tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines.
This includes medicines that you can buy without a prescription, as well as herbal medicines. The reason for this is that Anastrogratis may affect the way some medicines work, and some medicines can affect the way Anastrogratis works.

Do not take Anastrogratis if you are taking any of the following medicines:
certain drugs used to treat breast cancer (selective estrogen receptor modulators. This may reduce the effect of Anastrogratis;
if you are taking estrogen-containing medicines, such as hormone replacement therapy (HRT).
If this applies to you, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice.

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking:

a medicine known as the 'luteinizing hormone releasing hormone analogue LHRH' (a medicine used to treat breast cancer, certain gynecological diseases and infertility).
Pregnancy and lactation and fertility
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

You should not take Anastrogratis if you are pregnant, as this may harm your baby. If you are pregnant, tell your doctor before taking Anastrogratis.

Driving and using machines

If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking this medicinal product.

3. How to take Anastrogratis
Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you. If you are not sure, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

The recommended dose of Anastrogratis is one film-coated tablet once a day.

Taking Anastrogratis at the same time each day will help you keep your pill.

The tablet should be swallowed whole with a glass of water or other liquid.

Continue to take Anastrogratis every day for as long as your doctor tells you to.
You may need to take Anastrogratis for months or even years. If you have any questions about how long you should continue to take Anastrogratis, talk to your doctor.

If you take more Anastrogratis than you should
If you have taken too many Anastrogratis tablets or if someone else has accidentally taken your tablets, contact your doctor or nearest hospital immediately for advice. Show them the pack of tablets. Treatment may be needed.

If you forget to take Anastrogratis
If it is almost time for your next dose (eg 2 to 3 hours), skip the missed dose and take the next dose.
4. Possible side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
If any of the side effects gets serious, or if you notice any side effects not listed in this leaflet, please tell your doctor or pharmacist.
This list of side effects should not bother you. You may not experience any of them.

Very common side effects (affects more than 1 in 10 people):
hot flashes:
skin rash:
joint pain or stiffness;
inflammation of the joints (arthritis);
feeling weak;
loss of bone density (osteoporosis).
Common side effects (affects 1 to 10 users in 100):
loss of appetite
increase or high cholesterol in your blood. This is found in
blood test;
carpal tunnel syndrome (tingling, pain, cold and weakness in certain areas of your arm);
mild itching, tingling or "tingling" of the skin, loss / lack of taste;
changes in blood tests that show how your liver is working; thinning hair (hair loss);
allergic reactions (hypersensitivity) involving the face, lips or tongue;
bone pain;
vaginal dryness;
vaginal bleeding (usually in the first few weeks of treatment - talk to your doctor if bleeding continues);
muscle pain.
Uncommon side effects (affects 1 to 10 users in 1,000):
changes in certain blood parameters that show how your liver is functioning (GGT and bilirubin):
inflammation of the liver (hepatitis);
urticarial rash (hives);
"Snapping finger" (a condition in which one of the fingers of your hand blocks in a bent position);
increased levels of calcium in your blood. If you develop nausea, vomiting and severe thirst, you should tell your doctor or pharmacist, as you may need to have blood tests.
Rare side effects (affects 1 to 10 users in 10,000):
a rare type of skin inflammation that may include red spots or blisters;
skin rash caused by hypersensitivity (this may be an allergic or anaphylactoid reaction);
inflammation of the small blood vessels, causing red or purple discoloration of the skin. Symptoms of joint, stomach and kidney pain may occur very rarely, this is known as "Enoch-Schönlein purpura")
Very rare (affects less than 1 user in 10,000):
extremely severe skin reactions (Stevens-Johnson syndrome) with impaired skin integrity, ulceration or blistering;
allergic reactions with swelling of the face, lips, tongue and / or throat (angioedema), which may cause difficulty swallowing and / or breathing.
Stop using Anastrogratis and seek emergency medical treatment if you experience any of these serious but very rare side effects.

Effects on bones
Anastrogratis lowers the concentration of the hormone estrogen in your body. This can reduce the mineral content of your bones. Your bones may become weaker and more prone to fractures. Your doctor will address these risks according to therapeutic guidelines for maintaining bone health in postmenopausal women. You should discuss the risks and treatment options with your doctor.
5. How to store Anastrogratis
Keep out of reach of children.

Do not use Anastrogratis after the expiry date which is stated on the blister and the carton. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.

This medicine does not require any special storage conditions.

Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required. These measures will help to protect the environment.

The active substance is anastrozole.
The other ingredients are:
Tablet core: lactose monohydrate. povidone K-30, sodium starch glycolate (Type A), magnesium stearate.
Film coating: hypromellose 5cp, macrogol 300, titanium dioxide (E171).

Anastrogratis tablets are white to off-white, round, biconvex.
10 tablets are packed in PVC / AI blisters. 3 blisters are placed in a cardboard box with a leaflet with user information.
